This piece examines the idea that when we obsess and search for perfect beauty, we often lose the most important pieces of ourselves. The pieces that make us unique. I wanted to convey the idea that while she is broken and imperfect, the woman in the drawing is soft, beautiful, and worthy.

My artwork focuses specifically on sparking conversations about difficult topics in new ways. My influences are often psychological in nature and I find great inspiration in humanity and nature.

I work primarily in black and grey, graphite, on a large scale. I love the simplicity that pencil provides as well as the attention to detail I am able to obtain with a mechanical pencil.

This work is framed, includes museum grade glass to reduce glare, and is ready to hang. It was recently part of a solo exhibition titled 'The In Between' in Kansas City.
